How has it been safety tested?
Although our Baby Hoodies are classified as clothing and as such don’t require car seat safety testing, we have tested them to current and i-size European car seat safety standards to give you added peace of mind. Take a look at our safety page for more details on our safety testing.
Can I use my Morrck Baby Hoodie all year around?
We have different weights of Baby Hoodie to account for our different seasons. Our All Season Baby Hoodie, as the name suggests, can be used for most of our gloriously unpredictable weather most of the time. If however you are looking for something lighter weight for the Summer months or for a holiday in the sun, our cooling cotton Ultra-lightweight version is perfect. We also have a water resistant Rambler footmuff/cosytoes for pushchairs, which is very snug and warm on longer outdoor adventures. To see the full range of colours and sizes visit our shop page.
Do I need to use a coat as well as the Baby Hoodie?
No. One of the real benefits of using our Baby Hoodie is the ease and simplicity of being able to get out of the house without the struggle of putting a coat or snowsuit on a baby. Added to that padded coats and snowsuits are not safe to use in the car seat because the harness may not be able to be tightened securely enough. The other thing is that because snowsuits and padded jackets are so warm, overheating can be a real problem. To find out more about car seat safety take a look at our safety information.
Can I use my Baby Hoodie with a newborn insert?
Yes, you can place it on top of the new born insert and fit it in the same way as if the insert wasn’t there.
Can I use my Baby Hoodie if my car doesn’t have isofix?
Yes, you just need to make sure that there is no fabric from the Baby Hoodie between the lower front edge of the infant car seat and the seat of the car. The infant car seat and the seat of the car should be in contact with one another to prevent slipping.
What sizes does it come in?
We have 3 sizes: Size 1: 0-6+ mths, size 2: 5-18+ mths and size 3: 18 mths-3+ years. The All Season Wrap is available in all 3 sizes. The Ultra lightweight in sizes 1 & 2 and the Rambler in size 2 only. You can check the measurements here.
What’s the difference between the sizes?
The main difference is in size of the hood and the length of the back from the seat to the top of the hood, to account for growth and proper car seat fit.
Why is it important to use the right size?
For safety the Baby Hoodie is designed to fit smoothly behind your baby’s back and so that the harness straps are in the correct position. If you use a Baby Hoodie that is too big, for example a size 2 for a new born, there will be too much fabric behind baby’s back and if you use one that is too small it might pull down on the shoulder straps, which may affect the harness fit.
